                                    Robin (Erithacus rubecula)

The Robin opposite was sitting on top of the tallest tree in the coppice, singing it's little heart out.

I am sure that we have many more Robins than I actually ever see. The pair that I mostly encounter take it in turns to chase away all of the other birds from the feeding table closest to where I take my breaks; hardly leaving them time to eat anything.

When I was thinning poorly formed trees during the recent snowy weather, one robin kept following me around. I thought that he was looking for food so I cleared several patches of snow and put some seed down. However he didn't seem to want the food, he just wanted to keep an eye on what I was doing.
