July 2009

Recently MS have been having another of their endless problems with the visitor reporting software,

Because of this, I have been experimenting with Google Analytics. Using this software I have found that most people searching for information about Goat Willow (Salix caprea) are from outside of the U.K. Indeed some are very far-flung indeed: Rotorua being the farthest flung. What is it about Goat Willow that so interests other hemispheres?

I hasten to add that no personal information about visitors is collected, only things like the pages they look at, the search terms they use, and the city they are in. In short, things to give me a clue about what people might be interested in when they visit the site and to give me a geography lesson as a bonus.
