Ths is the only sort of damselfly that I have seen. Whereas the dragonflies whizz about in search of their prey, this damselfly proceeds very slowly amonst the taller grasses: it almost appears to be in "slow-motion". The pair that I have photographed were in this embrace for a good two hours. Apparently he was doing something unspeakable to the sperm of any preceding male damselflies.
